Artist Statement:
Let’s open a festival
Something is about to happen
There is no script here
Flap the fins, disperse the fog
The muddy pitch will become a sacred site
This festival does not promise resolution
The momentary celebration is forgotten
as quickly as it is experienced
Pour fuel onto the wasteful act
With a dog-like innocence,
cross through boredom and nihilism
“Well, it’s just a celebration
...but it’s also an escape.”
“Oh, it’s like having fun
...but it’s also a war.”
The thick metal body bursts open
Like a gun without bullets
우린 시간이 없어
Charging and discharging
The cycle never ends
With every startle, one note
Explosion becomes rhythm
Rhythm becomes escape.
It is the sound of fleeing feet
