Annika Tucksmith

Bio: Annika Tucksmith is an artist from the Hudson Valley. Her paintings render strange narratives of the rural landscape. Her work has been featured in Hyperallergic, New American Paintings, Architectural Digest, and highlighted in Times Union’s article “30 Artists Under 30 in the Hudson Valley.” Annika is a twice-recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Grant and the Martha Boschen Porter Artist Grant, a fund of the Berkshire Taconic Foundation. She received her BA from Connecticut College and expects her MFA from Columbia University in May 2025.

Thesis Exhibition

Artist Statement: “In the quiet, watchful corners of the valley, the landscape hums with something coming. Untold histories dissolve with hazy futures on the horizon. The earth’s suspended.

I paint to navigate the threshold between memory and observation, to question what I perceive, and to fold time in a circle.”
