Jiwoon Yoon

Bio: Jiwoon Yoon (b. 1988) is a Korean artist, born in Pyeongtaek near Camp Humphreys — one of the largest United States military bases in South Korea. When Yoon was six years old, she moved to Seoul. After learning about her family history from her father (her grandfather evacuated North Korea during the Korean War), she became interested in the division of the two Koreas and the resulting displaced Korean population. Currently she lives and works in New York and has begun studying the effects of the U.S. Armed Forces in East Asian and South East Asian countries.
